Can a 100-year-old slate roof really take solar panels? Usually yes, and a proper survey answers it definitively: an on-roof array adds roughly 15-20 kg/m², which sound Victorian cut-timber roofs generally carry, but “generally” is not “always” — sag, rot at bearing ends and nail-sick slate all get checked before anyone quotes seriously.
